Four String Riot - Manifesto
This is my pretentious solo project, a one-man rock band on bass
guitar. It has rules.
- No samples. No drum machines. Nothing pre-recorded. There is
nothing up my sleeve. Everything I loop is created on-the-fly.
- No guitars. Bass does not mean basic, and it is not backup for
some six-stringer's ego.
- No jazz. This is not a project that will show off blinding bass
technique or complicated looped "aural soundscapes." It may be
experimental, but it's still Rock.
- No elaborate effects. It's possible to pitch-shift, chorus,
modulate, and manipulate an instrument until it becomes something else.
It's not a challenge that interests me. I use fuzz and envelope pedals,
nothing else.
